Safety standards
Every tent and teepee we sell is tested to UK toy safety standards before it goes on our shelves. Here's what that means in practice.
UKCA & CE marked
Every product carries UKCA and CE marking, confirming it meets the UK and EU toy safety requirements set out in the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
EN71 tested
Materials, small parts, chemical migration and mechanical hazards are tested to the EN71 toy safety standard by independent laboratories.
BS 5852 fabrics
Cotton canopies and teepee covers meet BS 5852 flame-retardancy requirements for children's furnishings.
Age suitability
Teepees and canopies are suitable from 3 years and up. Sensory tents are designed for children aged 3+ with adult supervision during setup.
Materials we use
- 100% cotton covers with non-toxic, azo-free prints.
- FSC-certified pine or beech poles, sanded smooth.
- Cotton or jute ties — no small plastic clips at child height.
- Padded floor mats filled with hypoallergenic polyester wadding.
Using your tent safely
- Adult assembly only — check poles are seated before children play.
- Pitch on a flat, indoor surface away from stairs, radiators and open flames.
- Never leave fairy lights or plug-in accessories switched on unattended.
- Check ties and poles every few weeks and re-tighten as needed.
